Hot, muggy air-mass moves in this weekend

Today marks the transition between Thursday's cooler weather and the return of summer heat this weekend.  With the tropical-like air mass in place, pop up storms will be possible each day---especially during the evening hours.  These will be quite scattered since there'll be no true source of lift to work with.  The heat and humidity should reach its peak on Sunday before a cold front swings through bringing a better shot at more widespread showers and storms Monday.  Although the front will knock temperatures down a bit, we'll stay at to slightly above average through the middle of next week.

Shenandoah Valley Forecast
Today: Surface winds become southerly ushering in slightly warmer, muggier air.  Highs top out in the mid 80s.  There's a slight chance for an isolated forming in the mountains this evening.

Saturday/Sunday: Hot and humid.  Highs in the low 90s with dew points surging into the low 70s. This is quite muggy and you'll definitely be able to feel it. With this air-mass in place, pop up afternoon and evening thunderstorms possible each day.  These will remain scattered with the best upper level lifting mechanisms remaining just to our north.

Monday:  Cold front pushes through during the afternoon and evening bringing a more widespread shot at showers and storms.  Highs still may manage to break 90 before the clouds move in.

Tuesday/Wednesday:  Still looks like the front makes it down into the Carolinas before stalling out.  This will dry things out for a few days with highs in the upper 80s.
