The storm prediction center has issued a slight risk for areas east of the blue ridge and a marginal risk along I-81 Friday (see picture in comments about what those mean). Once again, this potential will come down to 1) timing of the cold front and 2) the extent of pre frontal clouds and showers. These factors will determine the amount of sunshine (and therefore instability) there is to work with.
