1/16: Not Much to Talk About Yet

Friday, January 16th 3am
Discussion:
It looks like a pretty quiet next few days under lots of sunshine and temperatures climbing back towards average.  A weak cold front will push through this afternoon bringing the chance for a stray flurry or sprinkle across the higher elevations of West Virginia.  It won't impact the Valley other than cooling temps a few degrees Saturday.  More clouds will be around Sunday with two systems in the area.  1) A storm developing off the coast which will spread rain along and east of the I-95 corridor and 2) an upper level disturbance swinging in from the west which will enhance upslope snow across western facing slopes.  At this time, it looks like the Valley will be sandwiched between the two and stay mostly dry although a few sprinkles or flurries can't be ruled out.  Looking ahead..cold air infiltrating in from Canada plus an active southern jet could make things interesting for the later part of next week but way too early to say more than that.
