Finally Some Sunshine; Rain Returns Thursday

9/10
The coastal storm that has kept cloud cover socked in over the past few days is finally departing up the coast.  This will leave us sandwiched between two systems, bringing the return of dry, sunny, and warm conditions for the next day and a half.  After some areas of morning fog, today will turn out super nice under mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing back into the low 80s.

A strong cold front will approach during the day Thursday bringing showers and thunderstorms for the late afternoon (after 2pm) into the evening. These will have the potential for bringing areas of heavy rain and isolated strong winds, but the severe threat isn't looking widespread at this time.  Thursday will be the warmest day of the week with temperatures soaring into the mid 80s thanks to southwesterly winds and lots of sunshine out ahead of the front.  It will clear the area by Friday morning, so Friday night highschool games will be dry.  Models are starting to hone in on a secondary front pushing through during the day Saturday bringing another round of showers.  Between the two, expect highs to return back into more seasonable 70s for the weekend into early next week.
