Summer Heat on its way

Here's a look at all the severe thunderstorm warnings (yellow boxes) issued yesterday with storm reports overlaid. There were several damaging wind reports across the northern Shenandoah Valley and greater DC metro area, but the majority of the storms stayed below severe limits.  

We'll find ourselves on the dry side of the front today with shower and thunderstorm activity pushed off to our south and east (best chance across central/southeast VA). Expect highs in the low to mid 80s today and tomorrow before true summertime heat (90s and high humidity) make an appearance by week's end.
