Expecting our hottest weather of the year to date over the next several days...
Southerly flow around a building Bermuda high will allow 850 mb (5,000 feet above the ground) temperatures to soar into the 18 to 22 degrees Celsius range and remain there through the weekend. This will translate to 90+ degree readings across the majority of the state...the exception being western valley and mountain locations which may end up stuck in the mid to upper 80s. Dewpoints will also climb into the 60s making it feel quite sticky. With this kind of tropical air-mass, pop up showers and storms will be possible each afternoon, but not expecting any widespread rain.
**Smoke aloft from the large wildfires in Saskatchewan, Canada slowly starting to diminish as northwest winds become more westerly
