Heat and humidity return today.  Showers and storms possible this evening..

A warm front will lift north through the area allowing south winds to usher in more warm, humid air.  An upper level disturbance will then move in from the west sparking scattered showers and storms this evening.

The Storm Prediction Center once again has the entire area highlighted in the "slight risk" for severe storms.  Although they look very "hit or miss", best shot for strong activity in the Shenandoah Valley will be between 4-9pm.  Conditions (including instability and wind shear) will be more favorable east of the Blue Ridge so expecting more widespread activity to develop there.

Other Notes:

• Large trough will dig into the east this weekend
• will be cool with highs only in the 70s
• Saturday looks wet; periods of showers on and off through the day
• should dry out early Sunday leading to about as nice of a day you'll see in late June
