A Rainy Week Ahead

(3/9/2015 8pm)

A rainy week ahead...two separate areas of low pressure will move out of the Gulf and bring showers across the area.

System # 1 (Tuesday AM through Wednesday): periods of light showers..anywhere from 0.25-0.50" expected across the Valley with higher amounts west of the mountains.

System # 2 (Friday through Saturday): A stronger system will bring heavier, steadier rain.  Some of this may start as a brief sleet/freezing rain mix early across higher terrain areas---this won't be a huge deal.  An additional 0.50-1.00" of rain possible.

There's definitely potential for flooding, especially across West Virginia where there's still decent snow pack.  Due to saturated ground, we may have isolated problems here in Virginia as well.
