Enjoy today's break from the heat and humidity...Valley highs will range from the low to mid 80s.
A shortwave with an associated cluster of showers and storms over the Ohio Valley will move east across the area later this evening...will have to watch to see how these organize and strengthen through the afternoon. We're seeing lots of lingering cloud cover over the Valley which should help limit severity...but can't rule out an embedded locally strong gust or two.

In other news... what is now Tropical Depression Bill continues to spin over Texas producing very heavy rainfall from Houston to Dallas...eventually moving up into eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas later today. Remnants from Bill will ride around the ridge and cross just north of our area over the weekend. Not expecting any major impacts but will likely enhance convection Saturday night into Sunday.
