Beautiful weather today...get out and enjoy!
Surface Analysis as of 5 am Sunday |
High pressure will begin building in behind last night's cold front. Expect partly cloudy skies, a nice westerly breeze, low humidity, and highs in the mid to upper 70s across the Shenandoah Valley. Doesn't get much better than that in late June!
*We ended up with generally 1.5-3.0" of rain across the Valley...a few locations saw a bit more. We are now officially running above average for the year.
*Severe weather was mostly confined along and east of I-95...there was even a tornado reported near the Hanover County Airport (just north of Richmond). Will have to wait and see if the National Weather Service can confirm a touch down after assessing damage.
*Another cold front will bring our next good shot at showers and storms Tuesday.
*It doesn't look like our cooler pattern is going anywhere anytime soon. Upper level troughing will remain in place over the east keeping temperatures at to below normal (normal = mid 80s) through the rest of the week.
